No sound - audio device driver issue (Notebook SONY VGN-SZ34GP)

Have just completed changing over the HDD in my Sony Vaio laptop. Now I'm just having to find all the drivers as I've lost the original disc that came with the laptop. This went pretty well with the help of good ol' Google. Except I am having heaps of troubles with 2 things. I've tried for hours to sort it out without coming here but to no avail... so here I am... again asking for help

1. The audio device driver won't install, I get this message:

And these are in the device manager. I tried downloading Realtek audio driver but that didn't lead to sound, so I uninstalled it and downloaded what I thought was Legacy Audio Driver but that didn't work either. Let me know what other info I can give here to further explain the problem (I can't think of anything else).

2. The other problem is the PCMCIA card slot. I have 2 different DLink cards (both the same model) they both work on my home laptop but only the home laptop one works in the laptop in question. The card I usually use doesn't anymore after the new HDD install. I think it is the card because you can see from the picture above that the PCMCIA slot is OK (no ? mark). Any thoughts?

Any replies would be much appreciated!
