No sound at all

i reformatted my computer yesterday
but there is no sound.. i can play songs
but no sound! also i can play videos but
of course, no sound..

here are some of my computer's infomations
Motherboard Properties:
Motherboard ID <DMI>
Motherboard Name Dell Inc. Dimension 8400

Intel NetBurst
200 MHz (QDR)
800 MHz
6400 MBps

company name dell computer corporation

PCI/PNP audio:
Multimedia Audio Controller [NoDB] PCI
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio [NoDB] PCI

also i checked the sound,video, game controllers list
but there was no exclamations
in sound, video and game controllers

but there were like 3 exclamations
in other devices which are:
Mutimedia Audio Controller
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

i already reinstalled my sound drivers from dell
support website, but still no sound!!

.......multimedia audio controller IS the sound card... Reinstall your drivers...I have heard that some drives from Dell do not work at all
 
1. download drivers to desktop
1A) if its an .exe file skip to step 2
1B) If youo have to decompress it/unzip it, do it, unzip/uncompress to the desktop. after that either setup starts, or setup will be decompressed/unzipped to the desktop. double click that to begin setup.
2. click next next specify where to install driver, and install.

thats it, maybe one restart tho
