Sound is not working in windows.Works when in linux.No volume symbol.Device manager givesQuestion mark for PCI device.

Did you install your sound drivers? Need to update all your drivers.

Yes it did try.VIA HD Audio driver gives the error "We can't find Audio device"
I have the motherboard CD too.How to know which drivers to install.Is it due to the PCI device error I am getting in device manager.

You most likely need the "Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio".
If that item is not listed under system devices then point the driver update for that pci device to windows update and it should install the driver for it, and then you can install the audio driver.
