No sound after windows install.

I had had a bad corruption of my Windows XP pro, which lead to an auto restart, and a blue screen in safe mode. Long story short, reinstalled windows after formatting the drive using a second computer, reinstalled hardware, no problems, after re-installing windows, I do not have sound....
Any ideas what to do ? It says that there is no sound device detected ?
Thanks
Any help is appreciated.

if you know your mobo, go to its website and download the drivers, or if ur pc came with driver discs, try those.

I built the system its a shuttlebox. So I dont have any driver discs, I dont know the hardware, and whats the best place to find the drivers after I figure out which ones I need.
Thanks again.

If you personally built the system then you should have the motherboard cd with all the drivers on it along with the manual and everything else you would need to have everthing setup correctly. You need the model of the motherboard to know where to go to download the drivers for it, if you don't have the motherboard cd.

That was 4 years ago and 3 colleges then the move home.
I however had all the contents still, No CD There was a floppy disc, but I have no floppy drive, this is a Raid driver anyway, and I'm not set up that way.
I do have the mainboard Manual which lists it as being A FN41U mainboard

OH!!! I KNOW!!! Look and see if your motherboard has some sort of sound manager. There you can enable your headphones/speakers to do what they're supposed to do. If you don't have a sound manager, then : ( , but I found I had Dolby Surround Sound and my headphones were supposed to be left speakers and my microphone was a subwoofer... okay?

Took a while off I found the proper drivers after talking to a shuttle box rep. Chipset drivers, included audio, Ethernet among other things. Thanks for all your help everyone.
