No sound after vista upgrade!

Well here's the story. Last night I upgraded from XP to Vista, doing a clean install everything goes well. The video drivers are valid and everything looks great. Now, trying to install the sound, I have a problem, the drivers off the CD for the integrated sound on my mobo wont install. "Does not support operating system: WNT_6.0H" is what comes up. My mobo is an asus p5pl2, and the sound chip is an "ADI1986A", soundmax I think. I cant find drivers for this sound chip anywhere on the net, including the asus website. Can anyone please help me fix this?
If I need to provide any more info, just let me know and I will be happy to provide.

Many thanks

Well problem solved...sort of. Got sick of hoping to find the drivers and went out and bought a NZ$40 soundblaster 5.1. Turns out this isn't supported either, but the story ends well because I found a 3rd party patch which works. Thanks anyway though PC Eye. Much appreciated.

A good deal of the older models won't see any Vista drivers since they dropped those into the discontinued lineup. That's so the newer models are what you have to go with for the most part.

At least you now have some sound for the present time. That always helps! :P
