No sound after reformatting...

Hi. I just reformatted to Windows XP Professional and I have no sound on my computer, regardless of whether I plug speakers in or not. I've tried downloading RealTek's audio drivers but none of them work. There's no errors showing up in Device Manager, so Iono what the problem is... Any suggestions? If I have to give more tech specs I will, so let me know. ;~;

Is the sound enabled in the BIOS? Also, this may sound funny, but are the speakers muted / turned on quietly?

Does the PC recognize any speakers that are plugged in? That's odd that audio drivers don't fix the issue. It would have to come down to either a faulty sound card or speakers are muted somehow.

Have you installed the HD Audio Patch (if required)?

Download the audio drivers from the manufacturers site if its an OEM build, instead of from Realtek.
