No Connection To Internet

I was on a wireless connection but decided to switch to wired b/c of gaming.

Here's my problem:

I plug the ethernet wire from the Linksys port to my computer. Once I boot my computer, I check Network Connections and it shows I'm connected with 100.0Mbps. I open up my browser and do not have connection to the internet.

I've rebooted the modem, router, and PC. No internet connection yet.

I'm running Windows XP SP2.

Thanks for the help!

You have a 100mb connection to the network... (the router). That doesnt mean you have a valid connection to your ISP. Meaning the router is not making a connection. If this is dsl you need to input your settings into Pppoe settings, or if it is cable use the DHCP normal settings.

Ok, I checked DHCP settings and it gave me the IP 192.168.1.103. I believe there is no problem there. Still can't access the internet. If I go back to a wireless connection, I'm able to access the internet.

Sounds like there might be a problem with the modem, the router sounds like it is working fine. Most high-speed ISPs should be able to check your connection remotely, call them and ask them to send some test signals to the modem. Also, try disconnecting the router from your compy and see if directing connecting it to the modem works.
