Newly Dusted and Cable Managed System

Hey all. I've had this system since last September when I built it but it's never been really cable managed until today. I dusted it out too with an air compressor. Looks a lot better and hopefully will cool down my room a bit. Anyway hope you all enjoy and any feedback or general thoughts are cool. Criticize if you want, just want to know what people think.

Here it is on from the front. Logitech sub and speaker (1 of 5) shown.

Side view with 120mm LED fans. Bottom intake. Top exhaust. Mainly to cool my overclocked 5770 and get air out of the dinky little HSF on my Phenom II 955.

My desk. 1 HP 2009m 20 inch Widescreen monitor and then one 17 inch (I think) fullscreen Dell monitor. CM Storm Xornet Gaming Mouse.

Full interior. Any cable that's not shoved in the back didn't reach. The ones underneath the HDD wouldn't fit in the back.

Close up of Stock Heatsink that came with my Phenom II 955. I need to upgrade it but works alright for now. 140mm exhaust fan on top and 120mm exhaust fan at the back.

Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Overclocked to 960 Core and 1300 Memory. (I went in to AMD Control Center and just realized they had been set back to stock clocks. I wonder how long it's been like that...)

HDD Cage area and DVD drive. All my spare Molex and Sata cables were down there. Wish my PSU was modular. Came with WAY too many connections for me to use and wouldn't fit behind the mobo tray.

Got a "before" pic for comparison by chance? Looks good though :good:

Suggestion for future: Get a completely modular power supply. Cuts down a lot on the extra cables.

Before. This was my first stab at Cable managing. It was even worse before this. Don't have pictures though.

Look at all that dust. :D

700th post!!! :P

That's an old picture and I put it back. It was a plugin somebody on here made. I didn't like it because it would load the page normally then apply the color. The inside pics are new but the exterior shots are a few weeks old.

Looks pretty good Darren. One thing to try though, the wires for your fan is running over your 5770 right now, one thing you can try is to unravel it and either see if it is long enough to go round the top or bottom and underneath the motherboard; or underneath your graphics card. That should clean up your look a bit more.

Is the CPU power cable not long enough to go through one of the grommets at the bottom of the case just to the right of the power supply and then out at the same grommet where the ATX power cable comes out? If you can route the CPU power cable behind the board, that will also clean up your look.

Definitely looks a lot better though. I'm looking into writing a cable management tech guide for CF; possibly in August. How did you manage to dust your system down in the end?

Thanks everyone. I dusted it out with an air compressor like what you would use for tires. Very powerful and worked better than compressed air no doubt. Yeah the CPU cord wasn't long enough. I may do the fan as suggested if I get back in the case anytime soon. Still wish I could stash the molex and SATA cables somewhere.

I would have a shot of the back but I closed it up without thinking and it took some serious pressure to get it to shut.

Yeah an air compressor is a good idea just so long as there's no moisture in it. :)

You should tie all the excess cables up behind the board tray like I did below (sorry for the old photo, not much has changed since the photo was taken).

Just tie the cables onto the case using zip ties.
