I play CS1.6 competitively and enjoy every minute of it too. I'm trying to learn more about computers so I can build a new one (currently selling this one, but this isn't a for sale thread so please don't clutter it). Any ideas on what I could do next? Budgeting myself just under 2k. Oh and here are the accessories I have for my computer:

Sennheiser PC350 Headphones

Steelseries 5L Mousepad

Welcome. Ok to the topic.
You could probably get around $900 for that rig (Give or take $100 depending on where you are).

Budgeting under 2K, if you only play CS 1.6 then I would actually recommend staying with the computer you have now. I mean, it's just a bit better than mine and yet I play Crysis on high graphics and have no problem.

I also play COD4, WoW, Fear, CS:S, etc. Very many games. The CS1.6 was just something about me :good:

But, as of right now, I can't even get the damned machine to work...

Well, your machine can run all the games you listed. As to why you can't get it working is a totally different matter. I would suggest having someone look at it before you sell it, it truly is a good machine and with a bit of overclocking can be really great.

It's under warranty for over 2 more years, I just can't get a tech at 5:22amCST... and I am trying to OC it. I got it up to 3300MHZ on 250FSB and 6x multiplier =)

Only a 6X multiplier? Are you sure, I mean my Intel E7300 has a 10X.
And do you really need to get a tech right now? If you can't get a tech then you obviously won't be able to sell it ATM anyway.

I'm using 6x, but it has the capability of 11x (in .5 icnrements).
And I want to play games right now, the for sale is just if someone wants to buy it. If it isn't sold in 2 weeks I'm keeping it because the case is such a large and great shell for using.

And I have to wait until 9am PST to get a tech... SHOOT ME lol

I had just started to OC it when the gfx cards wouldn't send a signal. I was going to try out 350 FSB and 9x multiplier... not at first, but eventually work my way there

Welcome mate, nice rig

Were you talking AUD here or USD? Make sure you state it if you are talking AUD :)

That is a good idea. I was talking in AUD, but still, even in USD a computer under 2K that is good will still be there.
If it is custom made you can even save 2K!
