new speaker opinions

Don't double post

Those are great speakers, you'll be happy. I have X-530s, and they are really good. Z-5500s should be way better

You are in for a treat. They sound and look great. The sub is a 10" in a REALLY big box, I have a friend who has two 12"s in his truck that dont match this sub in power. The speakers are nice and compact and can swivel around for mounting on walls. Only one problem I had, mounting them is a bit of a pain since the speakers are ever so slightly wider than the base so getting a drill to mount them will be a pain since you can't get a nice straight line into the hole, gotta go in at an angle. So far I've thrown everything at mine and cant even come close to blowing the sub or speakers. The speakers actually use rubber around the cone instead of the cheap styrophoam stuff that is usually used on cheaper speakers. Just make you dont throw everything at it the moment you get them. Take at least week to work them in before letting loose with the volume levels.

This is a blind statement, tuning freq, cabin gain all play important roles in how
"powerful" a speaker feels or is...also computer subwoofer enclosures are usually tuned in the high30s to mid or low 40s meaning they have some punch. Also its all in the install.

nah, his are just crappy subs.:P I really wasnt trying to say this is the be-all-end-all system, just a comparison. Also home audio and car audio are completely different so it really cant be compared so I probably should have tried a better comparison. Well, I'm getting a home theater system for the front room in about a month so that'll be a better comparison.
