New Sounds Card

I finally want to take the jump into having a semi nice dedicated sound card. I use the Logitech X-540s and I am wondering if this card would be a good upgrade over onboard audio.

I know absolutely nothing about audio. Would this help my headphones sound better? I have Bose AE2s by the way.

Any help/suggestions?

it will be fine

im not ubersmart at soundcards but my friend has a Xonar too and it works perfectly with his KRK-system speakers.
at least the quality is much better than onboard!

Thanks for the reply. I looked over a bunch of reviews since no one really wanted to reply earlier. I bought it a few days ago. It should be here tomorrow. I'm pretty excited to see how big the difference is between onboard and this card.
