New Rig, No Sound. :( Helpp

I recently ordered a computer off Computer Planet and it came yesterday, all's good apart from the sound. It said it came with the following:
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL 5.1

I'm not sure what the company of it is, or if it is even for the sound or just 5.1 sound support or something. I put a standard sound card in from my old computer but it still doesn't work.

On PCWizard it says the Manufacturer of the Device Audio is Asustek, the description says Silicon Integrated Systems. Oh wait, maybe it wasn't a sound card i put in. Because under hardware it's calling the SiS card a Network Card, so its displaying 2 network cards and nothing on there that talks about sound.

I've tried installing new drivers and it won't let me, cannot recognise the card. It has on Computer Management in Device Manager three question marks. Ethernet Controller, PCI Device and Unknown Device.

Please help, i don't want to be left without sound!

Also, when i tried installing drivers i got this:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Find out what codec you have then start looking for a driver. My suggestion would be try to find the latest one online somewhere rather than trying to deal with the driver CD.

If you know your motherboard, you should be able to find what sound card it has somewhere. Worst case, just find the chip on the motherboard itself.
