New laptop issues

I've just bought a laptop (which is new to me) from a buddy. IT still has windows XP OS and a bunch of his old files etc. I want to use a program "wipe drive" on it to clear out the OS and all his crap but I don't have any of the restore disks that came with the laptop and apparently he cant find them. Anyone know how I can get the disks for my laptop so I can restore the drives?
Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

You should ask this from original and first owner of your laptop he will guide you properly.
