I have need some general knowledge updating in hardware to do before I go to a show but in the meantime, was wondering how are prices and quality at the Cogan Fairs compared to online prices? Considering going to Southington one. Are there some shows better than others as far as availability and prices? If so, which ones are better? Im looking to find a gaming system under $1000. As we all know that doesnt go very far with Dell or similar. Feel free to message me. Thanks!

You can find good deals at fairs like that. But spending 1000 bucks you would be better off getting your parts at like Newegg or Tigerdirect and build your own. Think you could build one?

Well, I found the website for the show, and I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend it. Traveling shows like this tend to have a bit of a shady reputation. The main thing to keep in mind is that the day after the show these guys are all packing up everything and heading to a new city. This is the type of business model that lends itself easily to dishonest salespeople. Good luck hunting them down to honor any warranty they might promise.

Also the Cogan Fairs website has a link to "forums" that links straight back to here as if they'll claiming this as their own personal forums. I think Ian might want to know about that.

I could build one but Id want a proven list of parts that had been used before TOGETHER before I ordered the parts. If you know of such a list, please let me on it! :) Guess I should move this topic to another board here now huh? lol
