new gaming laptop.. suggestions?

hello fellow tech junkies! the time has finally come! .. to get a new pc..
I travel quite a bit so I am going with a laptop and my budget is 2k -ish

the two that I have my eye on so far are:

the two main differences that I can see are Laptop size/reso and slight gpu difference

One is 15" with 2880x1620 reso (seems a bit high?) and 3g ddr5 gpu
and
One is 17" with 1920x1080 reso(the more traditional) and 6g ddr5 gpu


I am not a tech guru or anything but I know one of the main disadvantages of laptops are heating problems.
Will the higher reso laptop have a higher chance to overheat?

Hold it! Have you looked at xoticpc's laptops, they have some good high end laptops, but from what I see here these are pretty good choices too, if you pick one of those go for the StealthPro, higher graphical ram is usually always the best choice, also get a really nice cooling pad too sometime, less chance of overheating. The StealthPro has the most chance of overheating, but if you don't block the airflow it will almost certainly never let you down.
