I am looking to buy a new computer and have stumbled upon the Dell XPS 8700. It looks like a nice and affordable computer.

Specs
Processor: 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4770 ProcessorOperating System: Windows 8, 64-bit, EnglishMemory: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz - 2 DIMMsHard Drive: 1TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive 6.0 Gb/sGraphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 635 1GB DDR3

Would it be able to accomplish these tasks:
Minecraft: High Quality + Fraps
Battlefield Heroes: High Quality + Fraps
Battlefield 3: Hiqh Quality
My main concern with this computer is the graphics card, which I'm afraid won't be able to handle the workload.

The processor is strong and there is a good amount of RAM and plenty of storage but the graphics card is really very weak indeed, so it won't be playing your games. Sorry.

This is very typical of pre-built machines. They have high-end processors and big hard drives and often a lot of RAM but low-end GPUs. The GPU is what matters most of gaming.

What Dell has done here is take the highest-end Socket 1150 processor and pair it with the probably the lowest-end current NVIDIA graphics card. Not a good combination for gaming at all since the graphics card is so weak.

I'd recommend you look at building your own desktop since it'll be better quality and better value for money - and far superior for gaming performance!

Yeah big brands will frequently market a computer as a "gaming/entertainment machine" by putting in a crazy high end processor and then a graphics cards that is kinda worthless for any serious gaming.

Spirit's right on all fronts.

Build your own, it's easy, fun, and cheaper and more performance for your dollar.
