Hey everyone,

We just built a new computer and now we can't seem to get the thing online. It seems that the motherboard we have refuses to recognize the built in card for it! So anyways the specs are as follows: Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard with an AMD 64 3500+, 80 gig hdd, ATI Radeon 9950 256 vid card. Thanks for the help in advance!

We have been looking in the bios but we can't seem to find where to enable/disable it. Where is it?

Have you gotten into bios? Usually f2 at startup.. it may say another key though.. All bios's are different. It should be in the same location where you disable a video card (if it is onboard aswell) Scroll through each page and try it. If not grab another one from another computer and use one of the slots. Identify if the problem is that ethernet card.. Is the card disabled in the internet connection settings window? Right click on network neighborhood and then right click on the broadband connection... If it says enable( it was disabled) then enable it. If it says disable, dont click it.... good luck.

You have the exaxt motherboard and processor as me. You need to use the Asus disk to install the ethernet driver.

If you don't have it (the disk), PM me with your email and I'll send it to ya later tonight

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you guys, I've been trying to find the dang card in the bios to see if it's turned off but I can't find it! Man is this frusterating.

I think I'm going to try to install the ethernet card one more time from the Asus disk. If I can't do it will you e-mail me the info? My e-mail is [email protected].

Thanks for all your guys' help, this is my first time building a computer and I think I'm addicted to it lol! Thanks again for everything :)

I sent the file through yousendit (it's 15MB) and that should be all you need. If it doesn't work let me know. (hope you have a USB key or CD writer to transfer the installer)
