I am looking for a high quality digital camera, I think an SLR.

What are some key features I should look for?

I am looking for around $600.

Thanks.

Don't buy a camera based upon MP's, consider them a bonus if anything.

There are many cameras out there that will fit your needs.
It would help to know what kind of shooting you'll be doing, and what your really looking for within the camera.

Right now you can get the Pentax K10D for dirt cheap, your basically robbing Pentax lol.
IMO, however true, your not going to find a better price to performance camera better than the K10D. Unless you get a good deal buying used.

yeah i hear that 8 mp is more then enough, i think it is able to be blown up to a 8x12 sheet of paper. (is that right some one) but i mean let me put it this way.

we have a 8 MP slr, with a normal lens, i can stand 6 feet away, take a pict of a golf ball and zoom in enough to see the writing clearly and read all of it.

Most important thing: Feal. the more you start reading about what DSLR is best the more you will learn that everyone says different things. Go out to a shop and try them out.

Camera's to look at:
Sony A100,
Canon Rebel XTI/400D
Nikon D40 or Nikon D40x
