Networking Nt?

Hi there,

I was hoping someone could help?

I have four computers, two computers down the stairs and two up the stairs, the two computers down the stairs are running XP and are going to be networked and Broadband installed, this isn’t really the issue.

The issue it the computers up the stairs, one is NT 4 and the other is Windows 95, I have heard stories about NT causing problems when networking.

Can anyone tell me please, how to network the NT system and the 95’ system together with the two XP systems down the stairs?

If its possible to setup, does anyone know the settings required for NT and 95’ to work on this network?

Regards

John

If it was me I would buy a low-price wireless router (ie, Belkin, Netgear) and hook it up to the broadband modem(that's if your broadband modem doesn't have a wireless built-in). Buy two wireless cards for the upstairs computer and have them connect to the internet while the two computer(connect wired or wireless depending on how close they are to the wireless router) downstairs will be on the same network and you can share the 4 computers together. Windows NT is not plug and play so make sure that the wireless adapter has the nt drivers, you will have to manual install the drivers.
