Ok here i go...

Im having a problem with my network connection in my house
i have a Wireless-g broadband Linksys router which i have 2 computers connected to it using a wired connection. The problem i am having is trying to get both of them to share files and a printer because when i try to use the windows utility to create a workgroup where both comps are using it only one of the 2 computers are in it. I installed the drivers and stuff that came with the router on both computers and one of the computers is using XP pro while the other is using XP home. When i tried to network it to my 3rd computer that had XP home it also didnt allow me to share files and stuff but both computers were in the workgroup, they just werent able to access eachother. if u need any other info. just ask

thnx for any help given

are the computers all on the same work group?

For example, at my home I have an ibook, HP nc 4200, two custom builds, and a G4. All of them are on my workgroup, Valhalla (yeah and my server's name is Odin....)

You can change this by right clicking on the my computer icon, select properties and go to computer name. Click the workgroup button and make up a work group.

Now, your router should be acting as your DHCP server, so you should all be on the same sub net. After that it is just a matter of right clicking folders you want to share and going to properties, and then use the sharing tab to enable file sharing.

Can you not accomplish this? You may have a problem with your set up if you can't since it should work that easily.

well i have had them under the same workgroup BHRAMEROO but they dont connect to eachother is the problem. like in the workgrouped computers section in my network places all is says is the computer that i am on but not the other one.
