a few months ago i was asking about wireless n and the basics on how to go wireless in my house. so no i have the equipment (or so i think) and am trying to figure everything out. so here's the deal

my pc: dell xps 400
laptop: compaq persario
modem: linksys cable modem
wireless router: linksys wireless g broadband router
notebook adaptor: linksys wireless g adaptor
internet:comcast cable

the problem is that i can't find any instructions on what i want to do. the goal is to still keep the pc hard wired into the modem, and then have the laptop wireless. what i did was plug in an eithernet cable into the back of the modem and ran it into the internet port on the router. after that i get a wlan light, power, but no eithernet light on the router. the internet on the pc still functions. the laptop isn't recieving any data. besides on how the modem and router are connected, i fallowed all of the instructions from linksys on which order everything should be done and so on. i have power cycled everything mutiple times to see if that was it. so now i am lost. can anybody help me out? thanks

computers connect? but not the laptops? you installed the drivers 4 the wireless cards? set everything up? like the channel 4 the router, SSID etc.?

try going to 192.168.1.1 and see what the settings are if its working right you should be able to access it on your laptop as well as the pc and you can see what channel everything is set up on and if there is any security or anything like that going on

Most disturbing statement...
the goal is to still keep the pc hard wired into the modem..
Do you mean router? It is fine if you want to keep it hard wired to router, but only the modem would be plugged into the router... and everythign else to the router.

After you plug it in like this..
Cable cord---->Cable modem---->Router---->Pc----* Wireless *----> Laptop

In internet explorer type in //192.168.2.1 (I believe is default) or //192.168.1.1
Then type in the login and PW. ID:admin PW:admin(default) or ID:admin PW:*blank

Leave the connection as autopmatic DHCP, and clone the mac address of the computer. Then the router should connect.
