ok, my network router for some reason screwed up and disabled the internet, i knew this because i plugged the internet straight into the computer and it was a-ok. We fixed the problem and internet was fine, but there is a problem now. I cannot connect to some websites, and i believe i cannot connect to web servers i.e. connecting to the Warcraft server to download the new patch for World of Warcraft. Is there something i can change in the settings to fix this? If so how do i do it? (computer novice) Its a netgear router

all help appreciated :(

Sounds like a DNS problem. Sometime's that just your ISP, or maybe you need a secondary one set up. Contact your ISP, or look around, there are some free DNS's you can connect to...

Another thing, my Linksys router sometimes just looses the net connection for no reason. Network works fine, but no internet. I have to go and just reset the darn thing...

Do you have a setup utility from the maker of your router? It may not be routed correctly and this should help fix it.

Sounds like your router is not renewing ip addys correctly. ipconfig and look to see when your lease on your computers ip expires. Note it and when that time comes and if you lose connectivity, that is your problem.

I suppose it could be your isp not issuing ip correctly either.

Don't worry about me, I know my network stuff. I took a Cisco class  I don't know what's up with my router, but that's not the problem because I use static address's on my machines because of ports. I think it's something to do with the ISP because I've noticed we lost the net connection(the modem starts flashing and such) then when it is connected again, we're still offline untill I reset the router.
