The Goal: Network home desktop to remote laptop
Current Network: Desktop(XP Pro) is currently home networked to another desktop(XP Home)and don't want to mess any of that up. Laptop is not configured into home network.
Internet connection on home network is cable modem wired through Linksys WRT54GS.
Internet connection on laptop is Cingular wireless card with unlimited data pkg.
Would like to keep desktop as host and laptop to be client.
The Application: To setup realtime gps tracking on laptop in cross country
tractor trailer (that's the easy part) with access to the same screen display
from office desktop to reference coordinates and directions. For example it would
be easier for me to look on my screen to see where he is rather than calling him
on the cell phone. Or if he misses his turn he can callme and ask where is the next place to turn around. Yes he can look at his laptop screen himself but,he needs to pay attention to traffic since he's in an area he's not familiar with. This will all work on Google Earths satelite software.

What type of network is best for this application? Can you help me set it up?
Can I or should I set up a dual monitor just formonitoring the GPS? That might be stretching it but, it's worth asking.
