Network question

I was wondering, i have a Linksys etherfast 4 port cable router.I am building a gaming comp very soon and was wondering.with 2 computers already joined to my network.will i see bad performance on my other computer while gaming ? will i see slower performace. I don't want to have to go out and buy another modem and the whole works.
Or will the router even have anything to do with performance?

Lan gaming or not, you will not see anyumore speed unless you plan on using a wireless portion of the router. If you're running cat5's to each computer, what you have will work perfect.
 
Yes i am running a cat5 cable down to my other computer through a router.
But i will be running another cat5 cable from my main computer with the router upstairs to one more computer.

i was wondering if ill see slow performance with 3 computers into a network.
 
Only if they are all running at once... either downloading or playing games. But getting another router and modem wont help that. You would need to get a faster connection... (if it does lag)
