network problems plz help

im trying to network my comp and my friends laptop, and i guess they cant read each other thou the pc is getting a limited internet connection from the laptop any suggestions
 
maybe you have not set the IP in one of the pc... then set on the 2 pc the IP like 10.0.0.1 on one and 10.0.0.2 on the other...
 
i can't tell you perfectly because i'm italian and i've got the pc in italian, but you do: control panel -> network connection -> proprieties -> IP address -> 10.0.0.1 and on the other pc, 10.0.0.2... i hope you'll understand...
