Network Drives & Domain Networking

Hey again. I'm wondering how to enable password access to a share on one of our computers.

Here's the list:

Computer #1 - Dell 5150 (Wireless)
Computer #2 - Custom PC (Wired)
Computer #3 - Custom PC (Wireless)

All computers run XP Pro.

I would like the user of #3 to access a share on computer #2, but I would like the share to ask for password. HDD where share is located is NTFS.

All computers can access network & printers, no problem.

I can map the share on #2 from #3, but I can also map it from #1.

I want the share to ask for a password.

Thanks.

P.S If anyone has any info on domain networking, please PM me.

well if you want ALL the share to be protected on PC #2 all you have to do is set a password to the guest account
i don't know if this helps you

set a password on the guest account
i'll tell you an easy way to do this
Start-Run-CMD
a black windows should pop up
write this
net user guest PASSWORD

However this is not the best solution

when you share a folder, you can make it so the user must map to it. If you viewed the shared folder of pc1 the shared folder would not be seen. BUT you could simple type in the name. //pc1/desktop/hidden

This is in the share opions for an individual folder.
