things were good. some time past from the good times to day. in that time span i think things were good but im not sure. so i move some computers around and pulged in the cat 5 cables into different spots in the switch. internet works fine on all the comps. all comps have the same 192.168.15.1XX ip's before i move stuff. now my web server doesnt work. the only thing i d to it was install real VNC 4.0 On the server i can ping exterior IP's and 127.0.0.1. they are fine. i cant ping this computer/my main. networkplaces on the sever i could see my main comp. now i cant see it. i tried to search for computers and could not see my main. there is one other computer networked that could be seen by the server but i havent tried it yet. i will later. now i know you are going to say put the cables back in the orginal spots. well i dont remember where i had every thing. its an 8 port switch so that quite a few combos there. i tried renew in ipconfig and got the same ip's.

um, i hope this makes sense, its 3:45 am and im really tired and angery.

if you mean rebooting. i did that 5 times and some times it doesnt see windows :). i thought i said that tho.

i think i got the cables in the original ports. now the server can see all the other computers in the netork via my network places. i can go into one other computer and look at the share folders, however, i cannot access any of the share folders on my main computer, shocking. on the server i can ping any thing i want to, out side computers, computers with in my network and 127.0.0.1 but still no web sites are excessable from the webserver. im using apache 2 and dyndns.

UPDATE: ok its working now. i had to add exeptions to windows firewall. does windoes fire wall still run if you have a nother firewall? i still cant access shared folders on my main computer.i can open the icon for my main computer but cant into any of the folders.

ah yes, this weekend i will be shooting more. it's amazing how many takes you have to do....

acutaly i was thinking about setting up some sorta blog system so i would have to manualy insert txt into the html file.
