Network Connection Problem

Ok this is what im working on and i cant seem to get it

Its a dell inspiron 8200 notebook and as of a few weeks ago it could not connect to the internet i tried disabling it and then enabling it also, i unistalled the driver for it and installed the new one any other suggestions?
 
are you trying to connect it to a network or to your modem? I'm confused between the title and what you sort of say in the description
 
If you could please give us a little more information on how you are trying to connect to the internet, whether it's a modem, router, college campus, etc. And other details that would help determine the source of the problem. Thanks!
 
well at my college we have to register on the school's database and it logs your mac, so that could be why the other one isn't working
 
it has be registered. it was working just fine then all of a sudden one day it just started saying network cable is unplugged when it is plugged in. so i dont know what the deal is
