hey guys, my wireless network has been goin down to an extremly slow (1mbps and verry low) or no connection at all at random times, and alot. It will do this around 2ice an hour, and this has been going on for about 2 or 3 weeks now. its realy starting to get annoying. Whenever i repair the connection it goes back normal (which is 11mbps and low signal for me because the router is on the other side of the house) for a while... then it happens again. I'm using a linksys wirless router and pci card. Can somone please help me out?!?!

And if that doesn't work maybe upgrading the firmware on the router may help:confused:
how do u do that? wouldnt you have to store the software on the router and dont they have no memmory(as in hdd space)?
as for the reinstalling the card ill try that and see how it works

no they dont have hard drives, but they have flash memorys, something like an EEPROM.

anyway, go to http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...835852&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper

select your model and will display options for what you can download. select firmware and save it to your computer somewhere. then login to your router, typically under administration there is a section for upgrading firmware. make sure you are plugged in via ethernet cable before you do this, dont do it wirelessly. browse and select the file you just downloaded (after having unzipped it if it was zipped up), and then hit upgrade firmware.

ok thanks, ill do that, and i also reset the router a few days ago and their was some thermal paste on it, not much but a little. i took it off and its going a little better. mabe only looses the connection 1ce or 2ice every 6 hours. much better actualy and it also is getting an average of 24mbps instead of the older 12. Ill post back after i install the firmware ill let you know if it works out any better. Thanks for the help :)
