hey there guys
I recently bought $400 worth of hardware parts for a old half built computer that i have
I started off with a
ASUS P5B-MX/WiFi-AP ( http://i00.twenga.com/p/26/12/112612vb.png )
NOTE i checked these parts with the computer tech at the store to make sure they fit my mobo set
i bought a Thermal Master PL series Power Supply ATX 12V 1.3/2.0
120G harddrive
1gb RAM
2 Molex cables
2 of them red ( i think they are called sata) cables
DVD Drive
Intel Pentium dual core 2.20 GHZ
Now i am pretty sure that i have everything plugged in properly
i have the hard drive and disc drive connected up with the red and molex cables
BUT i am using an old crappy case that i had laying around from a previous computer. the problem is that i dont know where the wires like the Power and reset wires go :S its really pissing me off.
I plugged just the power on wire into a set of random pins (where they should go) and i went to turn the computer on to test if it will go, What happens is the CPU FAN will jolt and that is really it, after that it does not jolt again until i unplug the pc from the power and do it all again. The MOBO light is also lighting up when the computer has power.
so to clarify all that
- Dont know where to plug the power on and reset wires (also the other ones like led lights and such) into
i tried googling my MOBO and i could not find anything at all.
i dont even know which set of pins i should be plugging them into :\
Bah this was only ment to be a quick project but its ending up to be causing me trouble.
Problem is that to buy another PC case around here will cost me $200 -PSU.
So i am stuck with this one that does not have a wire guide
a step by step detailed guide would be very helpful, one that caters to my mobo
the problem is that this mobo has a weird pin layout so i dont know which ones i am supposed to be plugging them into, also why does the fan jolt like that when i press the power on when i "might" have the power on wire plugged into a set of pins.
the case does not have a layout guide and the case does not have a name its just whats left of a frame more like it
