I bought 5.1 creative speakers, I am sure I connected hem right because when I run the test everything works fine. The problem is, when I do everything else(apart from test), watching videos playing music, only 2 speaking that are inserted in the "front speakers" hole of subbofer produce the sound. So what's the deal?
GIGABYTE souncard

p.s Please dont reply with things like
press start
go to control panel
go to sound
put volume up etc.

THANKS!

Chances are your music and moves are only stereo (2-channel). Try playing a DVD from your computer and make sure you set it to 5.1 from the DVD menu. If that plays from all speakers, then your problem is that all your media is only 2 channel. You can also try doing stereo upmix but most of the time it sacrifices audio quality so it can play on all channels, especially with onboard sound. A dedicated sound card will relieve this problem.

You might be right, when I played a video game some of the speakers were making some sort of sound. BUT! The very first time I plugged in my speakers and played music, 4 out of 5 produced sound, now I did something and it's inky 2..

Check your sound card options (not windows sound options). There might be a "speaker fill" option that will emulate surround sound with stereo files.
