Need help setting up wireless network

Hi I need how to setup a wireless network.....I have never done one before and need to set one up. At the moment I have a ADSL modem cabled to my laptop but I want it to be cabled to the computer ad still be able to use internet on my laptop when it is cabled to the computer......

What do I need to do?

Yes desktop to laptop.

a wireless route will allow you to do everything.

ok where do you need help. Did you connect the components and install the drivers. what you do is connect the router to the Desktop and install the router driver. You set up the wireless network on the desktop. what brand router and which router do you have?
