Need help buying versatile speakers

Hi, I have a $500 credit from work which I am going to use to buy computer speakers. The vast majority of the time I will be listening to MP3's of all kinds (from classical to rock), and occasionally I will watch a movie. I would really like to get something that will hook into both my laptop and my stereo system, which is pretty old and could use a new set of speakers. If they could also hook into my TV that would be great, but I don't know if that exists. I like the idea of wireless but that is not totally necessary.

you could go for BOSE...
go to any brick-and-mortar store and check out their display...
if you are an audiophile, the sound that it make is really clear and crisp...

otherwise, you can also go for either Creative or Logitech...
