Ahh! I bought this D-link router because the reviews were pretty good about it and so it came and we tried to install it...15+ times and nothing happened. Sooooo I went back to just having an ethernet router (the one I used originally) and now that doesn't work and now I am directly plugged into the modem so 1/4 computers do not have internet.

ANYWAY!
Can you tell me what would be a nice trustworthy router with both wireless and wired internet, I am done with newegg and tigerdirect are there any good deals at stores like compusa?

Linksys did not work for my job had to reset once or more per week. I personally use the D-LINK 524. This is running 2 PC's, 2 xbox360's and my Ibook(wireless). As for pricing I have not found any lower that those that you don't wanna deal with except maybe FRY'S.

Who is your ISP(leSHok)? If you have verizon, there is the Westell Versalink Gateway 327W available from them. I use it for random crap and couldn't be more versatile. Yes, I know it comes from the ISP but, it works as modem, has 4 ports, & wireless. Depends on ur use, right??

Um well you're going to need a cable modem regardless. If I'm understanding the question correctly, you want just a wired and wireless cable modem? Those don't exist. You need a cable modem and then you need to hook it up to a wireless router which will ROUTE approx 4-6 computers wired and as many as you need wirelessly.

A router will do you no good without a cable modem.

I would recommend linksys or belkin. Both have worked flawlessly for me. You can even look at buffalo technology as well. A buddy of mine has one and loves it. Hope this helps!

for consumer level products I recommend Linksys or Buffalo, I have 2x WRT54GLs running dd-wrt firmware and they are rock solid and secure. The WRT54G series is pretty solid, I would just check to see how much RAM your router has because I am reading that Linksys is reducing the ram in the router of their newer models.

I have only heard good things about buffalo.
