hey!

first of all, i am an admitted networking moron :P . i was trying to download an episode of one of my favorite shows that i missed and nobody on kazaa has it and i found this Azureus torrent program, but i can't get it to work with my firewall.

my computer is upstairs running windows xp pro and it gets it's internet connection through WOW Cable which is first run though a linux server my friend set up for me in the basement and through a router/hub/switch (don't know which). so apparently i've got to somehow get the linux server to allow info through this one port (i know the port number, but i'm not gonna post it publicly). how am i supposed to do this?

my friend had given me this place to go to online called Webmin (excuse my extreme ignorance in case this is actually a place on my own server or something :D ) and i signed in and looked around and there were a couple different things that mentioned ports and i tried to change a couple but it came back with some error like "we couldn't save these changes because your ip (my ip number in parenthesis) would be blocked anyway".

any idea how i can fix this so i can download this episode? i'm DYING to see it! thanks, everyone!

the dumb newbie

Do you know the IP of that specific computer? If so, Find the DMZ setting in your router and put your IP address in there.

(i know the port number, but i'm not gonna post it publicly)
dont worry i already know it

and we dont discuss the illegal downloading of material here... sorry but its the rules
