I want to share my cable connection with my four workstations. I have Windows Server 2003 EN intalled machine as a local server. What is the best method to share the Internet among four workstations? I prefer not to use proxy method.I don't know more about using NAT. Is it possible to share without using a third party software?

yeah, i'm running a domain server. i installed win server 2003 en to run my dns server and web server.

When using NAT, your four machines will appear to the outside world as a single IP address. This is OK, but causes issues if you are planning to run multiple internet accessible servers which share the same port numbers.

If you aren't doing anything like this, and simply need basic internet functions such as web browsing or email from the workstations, NAT should suit your needs fine.

Why not just buy a small router/switch? Your PDC will continue to function as normal, and the client machines can have full internet access.

I enabled NAT by Routing and Remote Access Service in Win 2003 Server. But I couldn't access Internet even by local server while NAT was enabled. Are there more configurations to do?
