My speakers have a slight problem

I bought a set of Creative 2.1 PC speakers and they work fine. But the problem is that all the sound plays together out of both speakers instead of selectively in each. For example, at the beginning of one of my songs the sound is meant to go from left to right on the speakers but they just stay constantly in both. This loses the whole atmosphere of games and music. Please could someone help me.

Would help to know what your sound card is as mentioned above ;-). Also did you check your settings to make sure that it's set to play stereo sound? It could be somthing as simple as a missed setting. Make sure also that you've got installed the latest drivers.
