ok on thursday i got my sound card. i then put it in then wen i turned on my computer it said new hardware found wuld u like 2 install. i said yes then at the end of the installlation it said some files have not been installed. *device is not working correctly* then i was mucking bout accidentely deleted my volume control n on top of hat i ave no sound can anyone tell me what 2 do

First of all you will need to go and get your volume control back.
This is done through Add/Remove Programs
Follow this -
Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components
Then check accesories and utilites, this will uninstall all of your accessories. Then do the same thing again and it will re-install them and Volume Control should come back
As to your sound card. Try using the Add/Remove Hardware and try it that way or just re-try the installation.
Just a question was the sound card second hand?
