It's her birthday on the 28, and her parent's ordered her a new laptop from best buy last saturday. Well I guess she got a call from them today saying it was shipped on the truck to the store, but the store lost it. And they can't order another one because it was one of the last of the last years models. Hopefully they can work out something. This isn't the first time I've heard of best buy losing orders. That's why I always order from newegg.

Yeah im pretty sure they will sort something out, if they cant provide her the particular model she ordered anymore then they should give her an equivalent one if she agrees to it or at least give her/her parents the money back.

Great time for it to happen eh on her birthday

I used to work for Best Buy and that is what they tell customers when the item should not have been sold. What I mean by that is sometimes with older models the warehouse will show a few for sale, but they are not really there and the associate does not know they are not for sale so the sale goes through. So instead of telling the customer there was an error they make up a BS reason.

The other thing that happens ALOT is when a customer piece comes in and should be put on the pick up shelffor the customer to come get, instead it gets put in active inventory and sold.

Sorry to hear about BB's mess up, I hope she raises hell and gets something for the inconvenience

im sure Newegg gets there share of issues.
Its nice to know though either or will work with
ya and give ya what ya wanted. thats reasonable
and fare. im sure they all have issues and make
mistakes.

Hence why I can't stand BestBuy.

OOHHH I can tell you so much more about them and the now closed CC, I worked for both...................both of them had EXTREMELY shady practices.

I just feel bad for the OP friend because this crap happened on their B-Day :(

Best Buy sucks...over priced + reliability. Next time you should hint "NEWEGG"

I use to work in their computer department and I literally died inside for every PC I sold and how badly it was over priced/built.

I quit and started up the family business with my old man after it. Make so much more cash and I actually feel good not ripping idiots off.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be buying anything from BestBuy anytime soon.

It's too bad about when it happened, it does serve as a lesson though... next time, buy from Newegg.

Just a update. She is going to best buy this Saturday to pick out a new laptop. Bestbuy is giving her on top of what her parents paid for the original laptop $250 credit towards the purchase of the new one. She's pretty excited about the extra spending money.

Cool... at least they're being nice about it. Half the time they'd just say "Sorry, try again. Here's your money back."
