Well it could be a number of things. You're PSU might be bad, you might have loose connections somewhere, motherboard could be fried. Endless possibilities.

If you're PC doesn't turn on at all, it can usually only mean the PSU or the motherboard is bad. Make sure all power connections are secure. If you have spare parts, then you can replace the parts to see if that solves the issue.

ok thanks do you know any limitations that i sould use? the only limitations i know of are pata-sata and pci-pcie... any more?

ok first of all it turned on well the fan did and then it quite and by limitations i mean like compatibility limitations... and how do i do that (screw dirver)? do you know anyother way to test im like poor at the moment and the only other mobo that i have is dead exept the one in my pc...

well if its a 95 its uses the old power supply type doesnt it

isnt it also possible that it wont turn on because its been turned off for so long, like the battery for the motherbored died

If you mean the CMOS battery it should at least power on regardless of if the battery is dead.

theres no switch on the psu and the only other one i have is working in my computer that works idk but could resetting the BIOS help ?, are there any special settings that anything needs ... i might beable to get a psu from a freind, um hhhmmmmm the psu is connected to the mobo and so is everything else all the things are connected to the mobo and psu ... idk what else i can do but replace all the other parts or use another computer maby one of you have another idea???

It's probably a 20 pin PSU so you'll need a 20 pin PSU from your friend. A 20+4 pin PSU should work too though.

If its a 1ghz proc then most likely it will be the 20 pin ATX connecter rather than the old 'double' AT connecter. You will need to open the case to find out tho.

ok well thanks for that any sugjestions on brands for psu if i wind up haviing a chioce???and if im going to upgrade this pc do you have any clue about what kind of RAM it would take (DDR EDO FPM...) and is there any way to test the mobo???

I wouldn't bother upgrading it considering how old it is... you'll end up needing all new everything.
