Oh and about the mother board im not sure weather it supports 7.1channel or already has it onboard. same goes for the lan.

For best performance you'll want dual-channel memory (2x2GB), it's cheaper too. PSU is overkill, why GT430? What will this be used for?

hey thanks for replying, about the RAM i jus want to be future proof some ppl say that more is better so i decided to jus go for 6GB instead of 8GB as i probably wont need the extra 2 for a while. As for my video card i thought it was a good price and tbh im not sure how much different it is from the 8800 GT.

by the way do u think i will have any compatibility issues with any of my components? And my mobo, is their an onboard sound card?

No point futureproofing yourself with RAM because by the time 4GB isn't sufficient, there will be a whole new CPU socket and you'll need to upgrade your motherboard, there may be quad-channel memory kits or the motherboard might not even support DDR3 anymore. Besides, 4GB of dual-channel memory will see a performance advantage over 6GB which isn't optimized. If you really need the RAM, then get 8GB. What are you using the PC for? GTS 430 isn't very good gaming card. Everything is compatible, and that mobo does have onboard sound.

Really, you don't have to listen to me if you don't want to, but I'd advise for max performance per pound getting this or this and then going intel and changing the CPU to this, though only dual-core it's a beast of an overclocker, is cheap, and is faster than Athlon II X4 645 when overclocked. I'd reccomend a third-party CPU cooler such as this or this or this, depending on budget.

You could get a 400-500W PSU from Antec, Corsair, Be quiet!, enermax, XFX, SeaSonic
For the GPU in that price range, you'd be better off going with this or this.
The case is fine, everything will fit. Do you have an overall system budget, or windows?

WOW, thanks guys for your input its much appreciated thanks, ive made a couple changes for what im going to buy, ive decided to get the nvidia GeForce 9800 GT instead, the mobo ive chosen benefits me as it means i dont have to buy a sound card and since the components that come onboard are usualy unwanted but im not too bothered about sound and 7.1 sounds great. As for the ram thanks for the advice ill probably sell the ones ive purchased when im finished with them and purchased a pair of optimised 2X4GB ram cards.

Thanks everyone its much appreciated =D

the board i linked also has 8 channel onboard audio.

That sounds great but i dont have any devices yet that work with usb 3.0 and im trying to keep a budget of £500 :P

thanks very much though, your advice is much appreciated.

it still has usb 2.0 and your devices would work in the 3.0 ports even. just trying to get you the best board for your money is all...

Thanks everyone, all your comments have been read and appreciated, my questions have been answered so i can now buy my parts with confidence with loads more knowledge than i woke up with xD.

Much appreciated and thanks again and goodbye.
