What do you think I'd get for my PC?

And some other computer parts I have around:

ASRock K7NF2 MOBO

Athlon XP 2400+

Old Compaq Case (with socket A mobo and PSU)

Old CRT Monitor

COLORSit 400U PSU

ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256mb DDR3 AGP

PNY 2 x 512MB PC2700 RAM

I would say your monitor is the most valuable part.

300.00-400.00 depending on condition and age...

w/o the monitor 200.00

Used is used whether just opened or one year old, same value, regardless of owner as well. Thats just the world of used merchandise.

Yeah, I know, it sucks doesn't it, lol!

Well, Even if I can't get that much for it I have a job that will pay towards my new setup! :D

just so you know, we sell old P4 2,6s, w. 512mb of ram for 10 dollars each to a recycling company and then they sort through them and build working machines and sell them for 75 to 100 dollars each. That is a complete system, keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers.

I would say if you got $200 you would be lucky, especially with a crappy compaq case.

Well, I've got an old Compaq case that has an old socket A mobo in and the other socket A mobo in my sig that I'm selling, I think I should get a bit for my GPU and possibly the RAM.

I don't know about the CPU... lol :o

No motherboard takes that ram anymore, it is too slow and all other mobos take DDR2 anyways. The fact is that PC hardware depreciates so fast in value its not even funny. The fact of the matter is, you system is probably worth tops $200, considering I could go out and buy a brand new desktop at around $400 that is better than yours all around, probably even get a comparable GPU even for that much.

The only computer that holds any resell value is a mac. I spent 1,000 on my last computer and I could probably sell it for 300 if I was lucky. I bought everything brand new, and still have the boxes even.

The older socket A boards will take it, I may have some luck on Ebay with it.

I have all the boxes so, I don't know. Well, for everything except the RAM and CPU.

The Athlon XP's are still strong processors, if you advertise for free in Micro Mart you may be able to get some cash for them as broken up parts.

Oh Yeah! Micro Mart, I read that every now and again, Haven't had one for a while though!

I may try Ebay and if it doesn't sell I'll try Micro Mart, Thanks. :)
