My computer doesn't see my camera... Please Help.

I wanted to make a little video but my computer doesnt see my camera nor does any editing program i have (Pinnacle 8 and Windows Movie Maker). What can I do?
 
Are you talking about your digital camera or a webcam? (I'm assuming a digital camera) So, in that case there are probably some drivers or programs that need to be installed on the computer before it can be connected to your computer. Check out the driver sticky here: http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=40739, and let us know if that has what you need.

Hello dciscouts, sorry about that, yes it is a digital camera. What sort of drive should I look for? Thank you, Nelson. :)
 
You know what, I just realized the stupidity of my last post, please completely disregard that..., if it is a USB connection, then you won't need any drivers, it should automatically allow you to access the information on the camera. Have you tried all the USB ports? If yes, then I would next try to get a USB card reader that would interface the computer with the card, or replace the cable currently between the camera and computer. It looks like either the cable is bad, or the USB port is bad.
 
it may be that your motherboard or w/e is not connected to the usb drive you are plugging it into, i had this problem once when a pc i bought was advertised as having 4 usb ports altogether 2@front and 2@back but there were 4@back and 2@front, it turned out 2 of the ones@ the back werent plugged in or something
 
I prefer to just use a card reader. Only hooked my camera up once so that I could enter my name in the camera name properties.
