My Camera.

I have the nikon coolpix s1
With a 2.0gb SanDisk memory card.
I accidently unplugged the memory card while it was plugged in, doing nothing, on the computer.
And now my camera turns on, and looks normal.
But when i take a picture, it takes a while to load it and save it, so it freezes.
And i cant turn it off.
It takes the info off and just is a blank screen but shows what the lens is seeing. And it goes off auto 1minute, but the lens doesnt shut.

And now after a picture is taken, it says WARNING!!THIS CARD CANNOT BE READ

What to do?

Thanks

I bought it in stores.
It looks exactly like this

I am pretty sure thats the exact one.

if you're not concerned about the images on the card. I would try to reformat it, but before you do, take the batteries out and put them back in to reset things.

Take out the battery and put it back in, then format the card either on the camera, or on your computer if you have a card reader.

I got a new card. On sale for $25. 1GB.

I try and take a picture, comes out a bit grainy, and then the indicator blinks for a little and says...'Warning!! THIS CARD CAN NOT BE READ!'

...And when I try to set settings for the camera, theres not white backround or selector that goes over the selected words.

Like there used to be.

I formatted the card when it was plugged into the computer and in the camera itself.
Its not reconnizing the internal memory either.

I may, open it up and peek around...

One of the pins may be bent or something.
Before I open it, I am going to call nikon...

Thanks

There is no reason to open it... the connectors are flat, it would be very hard to bend them.

I've never done it, so I wouldn't know the details, but this seems like the best suggestion:
Sounds like a firmware issue, can you flash your camera?

There wouldnt be anything to fix inside, you said yourself it happened when it was plugged into the computer. Sounds like a software/firmware issue.

And why do you say you cant flash it?

Lol Oh.
Um...
I restored it to factory settings, and still no luck.
Theres a camera mechanic down the street from me. Ill take it there during this week.

Thanks
