Music conversion... What format? How?

Okay so I have a sizeable library of music 145gb (25,0000 songs), which I keep in iTunes (don't ask me why, I just like the GUI I guess).

When I am mixing some of the programs or CD players I use don't like particular formats, and as I've picked that particular song for a reason it's quite an issue/annoyance.

What I'd ideally like to do is convert all songs to a single format, with out any loss of quality, nametags, or play counts, with out making duplicates of every single track.

Is this possible? What format would be ideal for this? (I'd have to be one of either MP3, AAC, WAVE or AIFF)

Well this depends, are you going for increase in quality of your music or reducing the size of your library.

In my opinion itunes sucks, zune software has a better gui in my opinion and supports way more formats of music and video. Not to mention have had used itunes myself and I find the zune software to run smoother then itunes as well.

I've been using software from NCH Software Suite for multimedia conversions and editing. They allow you to use it for free with some limitations but it gets the job done and I'm satisfied with it.

I dont think it's possible to increase the quality of it?

I need an absolute solution that given the amount of music to be converted there will be no loss of files, no one knows of program such as this?
