Multiple Routers on one phone line

Hey all, im nto really clued up on the logistics of ADSL lines and the limitations on access points etc... so hopefully one of you guys can give me some helpful info

Basically, my wireless router is downstairs, im upstairs, poor signal, driving me insane. As a temporary fix ive got a few 24-port network switches and connected them up to an old laptop with a USB wifi adapter, this laptop is situated a bit closer to the router than my PC could be. So uing ICS etc i managed to take the wireless connection go through the laptop and into the switches, out of the switches to my PC via ethernet.

Well, i'm not sure why i didnt think of this earlier but I hvae a phone point in my room, fully working, i used to use it when we were on dialup.... So im thinking i could have my own router, or at least some kind of access point in my room for all of my systems in there.

Basically I need to know what equipment i need. From the phone point i would immediatel need a micro filter (obviously) but the connection out of a microfilter is the smaller phone type (RJ-11 i think) obviously i need RJ45 to go into my switches etc.... I dont really want to pay out for an actual router

Any ideas

Sorry, i do have school to go to ya know.... And i cant move the router upstairs because at current my dads old PC plugs directly into it via ethernet. So moving it would render his PC useless

what you want is a wireless bridge that will connect your router to another AP, which will act as a repeater

I was kinda going for a super buidget idea here, as in a £10 modem connected to one of my switches. Your scenario sounds mighty pricey....

There are modem "NIC"s. You put a modem in each computer and network them over the phone lines. It's probably not the fastest connection in the world, but if all you're doing is internet it should do the trick just fine. I know USRobotics makes them. I'm not sure about anyone else.
