Hi

I recently downloaded 2 mp3's off a bands website (dont fret it was legal both paid for.) So it wasnt from Limewire etc However I listened to both songs for a first time and they seemed fine. However second time round they both seemed distorted. I've had this happen a couple of times before but have never found the cause of the problem.

Thanks for your help

I'm using a Creative audigy 2 (i think off an old dell system.) I'm using a pair of logitech speakers so it could be these. but this isn't a regular occurrence as it doesn't happen to all of my music collection. Only certain songs after a couple of plays

have you updated to wmp11 if so try playing audio in a different player and see if it is distorted. what kinda of distortion does the pitch and playspeed go up? i had that prob with wmp i never could fix it i used bsplayer untill the wmp11 which fixed the problem. also see if you need any updates for wmp off windows.

yeah im on wmp 11. the songs play fien on both itunes and my mp3 playr. its just distorts on the bass part of a track. I think the term is clipping. I think the input mp3 file plays to loud. So its not a problem that can be fixed by turning volume down

By the sounds of it... it is the file when it plays in windows media player 11... i don't think we are able to fix this.

wait up it only clips when you play it in wmp not in itunes or after transfered to mp3 player if thats the case i believe but im not sure there should be a setting in wmpthat says allow clipping if it is clipping it sounds like pops and cracks
