mouse issues...

Sorry if this is the wrong area I assume since I have a problem with my mouse even though it might be a software issue it should go here.

I just built a new computer and when I click the mouse button once about 90% of the time it keeps double or triple clicking. I have tried using a different mouse but it still does it. I when in the the mouse settings and set the double click speed to as slow as it can go...as fast as it can go...in the middle. I tried different USB posts nothing is helping.

Do you know how hard it is to navigate like this...lol. Any ideas?

MOBO: ECS A780GM-A Ultra
RAM: OCZ Platinum 2 x 2GB (PC2 8500)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb 3.0GHz
GPU: GeForce 9400 GT 1GB
Sound card: Delta 66
Mouse: standard 3 button optical mouse
 
anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: good thing this forum has a thing that stops me from posting the same post twice in 5 mins...I got banned from one forum I was a member of for three years because the mouse clicked the post button multiple times and I did not notice till it was to late...lol.

This might sound silly but give it ago

press the left mouse button hard 5-6 times (i.e. physically abuse the mouse)
It might work.
 
I dont no why it works i just no it does , i guess its one of lifes mysteries, anyway im glad its working :)
 
Computers are developing feelings and by pressing down hard on it you showed it who's boss.... True Story...
