Hi,

I have a Motu PCI 424 and I have this annoying problem. It crackles when I'm recording or playing back alot of audio.

I got this problem on an old computer and it was down to the CPU. I have a pentium D 5ghz(I think) and my old one was a 1.8ghz. If I was to update to a 2.13ghz core 2 duo(4mb cache) do you think that would be any help?

I have had the same problem as yours with my old sound card,until I've checked its mic output...and noticed that theres a cracked lead,so i decided to resolder it again and every thing went fine...

Thanks alot for the reply. The thing is that it is a sound card but its also a professional recording unit. It sits outside the PC and plugs in via its own firewire card. I should of said that when I put it into a computer with a faster CPU it doesn't do it (its a P4 3.2ghz). So what I really wanted to know is would a 2.13ghz Core 2 duo CPU do it?
