Mono signal

many days I am listeneing to music on my earbuds, but I only want to use one so I can still hear real people. This works fine until the guitarist only plays in one ear and I can't hear it. How can I make my computer output a mono signal to hear the left and right channels in both ears?

I am using an HP laptop with realtek drivers, windows 7 64 bit

I don't think there's a way to make it do this. Audio files could be edited and exported as mono, moving one channel and placing the other in both channels. Or you could always make some little converter for the headphones... Essentially wire both speakers to whichever channel you hear the voices from.
